「ここに見えない地図が書かれていると想像してください。その地図上に『中心の場所』『重要な場所』『行きたい場所』『行った場所』『思い出した場所』をそれぞれ配置してください。」このように呼びかけるワークショップを８日間行いました。結果、およそ６０人の参加者による「見えない地図」が会議室の湾曲した壁面で重なり合う状況が出現しました。

一人で想像する「見えない地図」は、経験と記憶から導きだされた個人の肖像であるといえるでしょう。では、複数の参加者による「見えない地図」は、どのような記憶を私たちに見せてくれるのでしょうか。

壁面に書き込まれた場所の名前は、個人の経験や意識などが、他者との複雑な関係性を構築しながら配置されています。交錯した線は、ただ土地の名前を繋ぐだけではなく、記憶の風景を結びつけます。それは単なる「地図」を超えた多元的な風景を浮かび上がらせます。

複数人による「見えない地図」は、さまざまな記憶が同時多発的に変化する光景を私たちに見せているのかもしれません。

 

A work created with a securities company employees. On this wall“Imagine an invisible map. Please arrange your own important place,a place you want to go etc, on the imagined map.” As a result, an“invisible map” by about 60 participants appeared to overlap on the curved wall of the conference room. The “invisible map” imagined alone can be said to be a portrait of an individual derived from experience and memory.

So what kind of memories do “invisible maps” by multiple participants show us? The names of places written on the wall are arranged while building complex relationships with others, such as personal experience and awareness. The intersecting lines not only connect the names of the lands, but also connect the scenery of memories. It brings out a multi-dimensional landscape beyond just a “map”. The “invisible map” by several people may be showing us a scene where various memories change simultaneously and frequently.
